Microschooling
At Coastside Leadership Academy we redefine education through the innovative concept of microschooling. Students experience the power of microschooling while attending CLA, Skyline College, and engaging in their own extracurriculars. As microschool students, they have flexibility in their curriculum, expertise, and hobbies. Learning expands from a classroom model to engaging in the local and global community as leaders. Our microschool model fosters an environment where shared values and philosophies of learning flourish, embracing innovation and experiential education tailored to meet each student's unique journey. Unlike conventional schooling, CLA operates independently, free from bureaucratic constraints, standardized tests, and rigid curriculums. Students at CLA register as homeschoolers with the California Department of Education, empowering them with flexibility and autonomy in their educational pursuits. This approach enables CLA to deliver cutting-edge education that dynamically adapts to the ever-evolving landscape of learning, preparing students for success in an increasingly complex world.
Coastside Leadership Academy combines multiple research-based best practices in education to create the ultimate learning environment for girls. CLA is led by experts in all girls education who understand that when a girl’s spirit is nurtured and they feel connected to a community, they are able to learn, grow, and lead.
